Livorno Art Book Fair is an event dedicated to art books, independent publishing, and contemporary editorial practices, organised by Blob Art ETS and T.O.E., with the support of the Municipality of Livorno. The fair will take place at the Museo della Città di Livorno – Polo culturale dei Bottini dell’Olio over three days: Friday 31 July, Saturday 1 and Sunday 2 August 2026.

An intermedial platform par excellence and an artistic object in itself, the art publication is at the heart of the fair, entirely dedicated to independent publishing and artists’ books, spanning graphic experimentation, photography, print practices, zines, and self-publishing.

The opening will take place on Friday, 31 July at 6.00 pm, with the fair continuing on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday from 6.00 pm to midnight.

UNO STRANO MOVIMENTO

Tano D’Amico e l’editoria del ’77

Curated by Paolo Tonini, L’Arengario Studio Biografico

On the eve of the fiftieth anniversary of the 1977 Movement, L'Arengario Bibliographic Studio presents, as part of Livorno Art Book Fair, an exhibition dedicated to one of the most intense and innovative periods in Italian culture of the second half of the twentieth century. Through the photographs of Tano D'Amico, one of the Movement's foremost visual interpreters, alongside a selection of original newspapers, magazines, books, and editorial materials, the exhibition explores 1977 as a laboratory for new languages, images, and cultural practices that shaped a generation and profoundly transformed political, visual, and publishing communication.

Talk

The Livorno Art Book Fair talk programme is conceived as a space for discussion and exchange dedicated to contemporary art publishing. At the Museo della Città di Livorno, publishers, artists, curators, and cultural practitioners will share their experiences, latest publishing projects, and the different practices connected with artists’ books, photography, visual culture, independent publishing, and editorial experimentation. The special participation of Tano D’Amico will also offer an insight into one of the most significant chapters in Italian visual culture.
